A NIGHT OF GLAMOUR
This year's Fashion Fest by Mali Corpus was an epic collaboration of the Rio Grande Valley's fashion business women (& men). From the first second of planning, to the last minute details, the entire night was fabulously executed. I love meeting others who aspire to do something creative with their lives. Their energy is infectious. The vibes are eclectic. & the aurora is positive. These kinds of events are exactly what the Rio Grande Valley needs. The only fun things to do down here, are going out to eat & going to the movies. It's even especially boring if you're a minor. You can't get away with going to cool lounge's for drinks. I LOL so bad when people assume I go out because I look of age. I'm always saying my version of going out is Barnes & Nobles, Pizza Hut & Starbucks. It's really truly sad that we lack parks & shopping plazas to pass the time. For these reasons, I'm happy we have something to look forward to come every November.
I'm especially grateful I was able to attend Fashion Fest 2016 as part of the FRANCISCA SHOWROOM team. I even sat in the Media section & everything, it was my little 15 minutes of fame. I snapped and insta-storied the whole night, so much so, that my phone was glitching on me & I was so scared I was going to miss the best section. Honestly, it felt like the universe was conspiring against me that night. A past beau called me & tried to bring down my vibes. Like honestly, out of all nights, he had to call, my cloud didn't get backed up, I lost my lipstick, I twisted my ankle & my hair went flat! It's okay though, I'm learning to stop amongst the chaos, to breathe.
*My english teacher would be so pissed with me right now but...*
So, so, so impressed with all of the clothes I saw that night. The quality of it all was just...wow. My favorite segment was The Glass House. I mean, people were literally messaging me, asking if the clothes was Gucci. The stylists did an grade A job on all the looks.
